My life as a writer began at age two when my dad caught me tracing letters from books to form words. Years later I’m still in love with the written word. I write professionally for the federal government but fiction writing and poetry are my loves.
I’m a former journalist who wrote for almost 10 years in professional publications, starting with paid freelance work in high school. I’ve written for The Baltimore Sun, The Carroll County Times, The Gazette (Mount Airy & Frederick, though both are now defunct), and Frederick magazine, among others. I write for government publications as part of my job.
I’m a member of the Maryland Writers’ Association, and I participate in both the Frederick Writers Salon and the Western MD Writers Meet-up Group. I enjoy workshopping and critiquing stories, so if you have a short story, poem, or other piece and want advice and/or technical help, please email me. Free of charge, but you’ll have to review one of mine in exchange to let me know what you think! 🙂
This blog features anything and everything writing from daily prompts, to fun articles about our craft, to blogs from other writers. I’ll post contests for any genre, and host polls to find out what you as a reader want featured.
The best advice I can give you as a fellow writer is to KEEP WRITING! Write everyday or at least every other day. Write letters, keep a journal, write flash fiction pieces, or make up conversations for your characters. The best way to be a writer is to just BE one!
